Get a good night sleep with natural aromatherapy room and pillow mists
(this is not sponsored)

Everyone has a lot on their minds and you might be struggling with sleeping just as I am. There are many suggestions for sleep aids but I've always been a fan of pillow mists. On the whole my allergic self can tolerate them in my room and on my bed linen. Aromatherapy is a holistic approach to soothing the mind, body and spirit. Essential oils are used for many different ailments and a pillow mist may help ease stress, agitation and anxiety. No one can promise a miracle but it's worth a trying a pillow mist for yourself.

Chilly B Lavender Lullaby Luxury Bath Soak

UPDATE 2017 - CHILLY B re-branded to LOVE TO B

I am not a bath person, it stems from my childhood years of missing out on Mr Matey and having to bathe in paraffin eczema treatments. Recently, I have been trying to take some “me time” and relax in the tub. I’m still not completely swayed but I have enjoyed the excuse to buy bath products.

I placed an order with Chilly B and they kindly included Lavender Lullaby Luxury Bath Soak. This soak is a combination of Dead Sea and Himalayan salts with added Shea and Cocoa butter. The butters give a luxurious feel and after bathing my skin feels silky but not greasy. These salts also contains lavender petals which I think makes a pretty addition to your bathing experience. I love the packaging for its cute and pretty labels. The bath salts are available in screw top bottles or clip top jars.

Quintessentially English Lavender Fields Bath Bomb
I purchased a Quintessentially English Lavender Fields Bath Bomb from Adore Naturals. The ingredients are simple - Water (Aqua), Bicarbonate of soda, Citric acid, Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia), Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool. The subtle lavender scent was the only minor disappointment. I find lavender a comforting fragrance and would have preferred a bit more of it.

I enjoyed bathing in the tub with both products and did not experience irritation or noticeable dryness to my skin. I definitely suggest adding both Quintessentially English bath bombs and Chilly B Luxury Bath Soak to your wish list and with Christmas (yes I dared to mention it in September!) approaching they would make lovely stocking fillers.

I think it is fair to say that balms and body wash are my top skincare loves. It may seem odd to chose bodywash as a favourite but as my skin is so fickle finding the perfect product that smells good and does not irritate provides me with great happiness.

Essential Care sent me a box of treats which included their Lavender hand and body wash. I dedicated a whole post to lavender as it is one of my favourite ingredients. I find this product works well for me and my sensitive skin. It has a lovely fresh clean and natural lavender fragrance. As with all Essential Care products this is organic and free from any nasty ingredients so ideal for those who have fragile skin like me. The wash is creamy and lathers up nicely and does the job it's intended to do. It has quickly become a favourite and I am happy to recommend it to everyone.

If you are not a fan of lavender this product is also available in lemongrass, ylang ylang and orange and aloe vera. They retail for £9 for 200ml which I think is a good price in comparison to other natural brands. If you can not decide which fragrance you might like or you are searching for a gift, I noticed Essential Care have a gift set with a trio of body wash.

Have you tried Essential Care body wash or any other products from their range? Do you have a favourite?

It crossed my mind the other evening, after my shower, that I have a bit of a lavender obsession. I always gravitate towards the fragrance when buying products. I love a clean and fresh lavender scent. It is a wonderful ingredient with many amazing properties such as -

  • can be used for treating headaches, insomnia, fever blisters, acne, disrupted digestion and even anxiety, stress and depression
  • may also help Eczema, Nausea, Nosebleeds, dry or chapped skin, Chapped or sunburned lips, Hay fever, Dandruff, Cold sores
  • Fresh Lavender is edible and can be added to cakes or raw chocolate

Dr Organic Lavender Skin Lotion

I have had this tube of skin lotion for ages it was an RT win on Twitter. I love Dr Organic products and have previously blogged about my firm favourites. For those of you not familiar with the brand the range is free from parabens, sls, artificial colours, harsh chemicals, fragrances and preservatives. Products are suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans and Dr Organic is against animal testing. If you would like to see my other reviews click here - Manuka Face MaskPomegranate Face CreamHand creamsManuka Face Scrub

It is probably not going to surprise you that I like the skin lotion. Lavender is one of my favourite fragrances and is perfect for sensitive skin. Dr Organic use pure essential oils resulting in a beautiful sharp scent that does not remind me of old ladies. This lotion is light but not milky or runny. My skin absorbs it easily and I love using it on my legs after shaving. I highly recommend and it is budget friendly.

Dr Organic is available on the high street at Holland & Barrett. Full size tubes 200ml (mine is trial size) cost around £6 - £7. If you do not like Lavender it is also available in Tea Tree, Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, Pomegranate, Moroccan Argan Oil, Coconut, Manuka, Royal Jelly, Rose Otto.

Heavenly Organics Skin Care

Products from Heavenly Organics are 100% vegan, organic and natural (free from synthetic ingredients).  The range includes body and facial scrubs, lip balm, foot balm, hand lotion and refills are available.

I decided to buy the Lavender Solid Hand Lotion. Unlike other hand lotions I own this one is solid and packaged in a tin.  The tin is travel friendly, no worries about leaks and the size is convenient for handbags (15g).

Heavenly Organics Skin Care

The fragrance is pleasant and I do not find it overpowering.  The product is easy to use by simply swiping over hands and then massaging hands together.  I find the lotion effective and not heavy or greasy although I do prefer using it at bed time rather than during the day at work.  The ingredients are simple but effective (Organic Cocoa Butter, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Lavender Essential Oil) making them ideal for all skin types. Overall this is a nice little product for a reasonable price.
